About Our Company
AmPro's dynamic history includes growing from an entrepreneurial startup in 1978 to a company that today serves some of the largest corporations in the United States. AmPro continues to grow and in 2005 acquired a second state of the art manufacturing and assembly facility, in addition to hiring dozens of new skilled employees.

Both of AmPro's expansive facilities are strategically located between Birmingham, Alabama and Atlanta, Georgia, along the I-20 corridor. Both of those metro areas are among the southeast's most important transportation hubs, giving AmPro products quick access to the rest of the Southeast and to the rest of the world. Additionally, AmPro is located within 1 ½ hours of every major auto manufacturer in Alabama.

AmPro's proven track record with highly reputable customers and AmPro's ever-improving ability to meet their customers' needs better, quicker, and more efficiently give AmPro and their customers in all industries a strong advantage.

Office Picture AmPro began operations in July of 1978 in Leeds, Alabama, located along I-20 in the eastern portion of metro Birmingham. The company was launched by four principals, two of whom had previous experience in the industry.

Starting out in a 20,000 sq ft facility, they quickly expanded to 46,000 sq ft in 1980, which they purchased along with 18 acres for further expansion. By 1986, the company added 60% more space to its facility, creating almost 75,000 sq ft.

AmPro first started as an injection molder of proprietary housewares for the ad specialty and retail markets. The first facility included five molding machines and two silk screen machines. In 1992, as a result of customer demand, AmPro acquired a custom molder and entered the custom molding market. In 1994, the Company began a joint venture with Europe-based Pro Mould, and in 1999, AmPro bought out Pro Mould's interest in the venture.

In July 2005 AmPro acquired a state of the art facility located in Anniston, Alabama on the site of the former Fort McClellan, a large former army facility being redeveloped after being closed by BRAC several years prior.

AmPro has developed an excellent and well renowned reputation in custom molding, contract manufacturing, and contract assembly. However, as part of the company's strategic focus, AmPro no longer provides proprietary molding services to the ad specialty and retail markets.

Today, AmPro has 43 closed loop molding machines that range from 22 tons to 3300 tons, which includes robotic equipped machines. AmPro also has its own mold making and repair facilities for machines up to 350 tons. For post molding work, AmPro has one semi-automatic silk screen machine, two pad printers, sonic, vibratory, and spin welding, and assembly capabilities for contract, turn-key manufacturing if needed. The Company operates 24 hours a day, 5-7 days a week.

Sales extend throughout North America and occasionally beyond. Some customers include: Honda/TS Tech and KMA; Hyundai/Mobis and Daehan Solution; Mercedes/JCI, Decostar, and Delphi; Nissan/Plastech; Meggitt Defense; Meadowcraft; Chrysler/Woco; Ford/Bosch, and ElectricFil; and others. AmPro will continue its growth and thereby continue expanding the capabilities it offers all of its highly valued existing customers and future customers. Thank you for your interest in our company.
